QUALITY REQUIREMENTS BY PRODUCT AND ORDER

Dental Instrument Quality: Define, Verify and Record

Quality is made reviewable through an agreed specification, appropriate evidence and recorded acceptance—not through unqualified claims on a general website page.

Begin with the approved requirement

Identify the product reference, intended function, critical dimensions, working-end pattern, handle or joint configuration, finish, marking, packaging and target-market documentation that matter to the purchase.

  • Separate required characteristics from preferences.
  • Use measurable acceptance criteria where possible.
  • Control drawing, specification and set-list revisions.

Match evidence to the quoted item

Request only the material, quality or market documents applicable to the exact product and supply route. A company-level statement does not automatically establish the status of every catalogue item.

  • Check document issuer, scope, dates and identifiers.
  • Confirm that referenced product families match the order.
  • Verify critical external records with their official issuer when appropriate.

Inspect the characteristics that were agreed

Incoming, in-process and final checks depend on the product and approved specification. A useful inspection record identifies what was checked, the method or reference used, the result and the disposition of any nonconformity.

  • Dimensions and configuration.
  • Alignment, movement and functional features.
  • Surface condition, marking, pack and quantity.
  • Itemized set composition where sets are supplied.

Keep approval and change control visible

Samples, reference units and approval records should be tied to a revision. Later substitutions or specification changes require review rather than silent acceptance.

  • Record who approved the requirement and when.
  • Link deviations to an authorized decision.
  • Retain the records required by the buyer’s system and applicable obligations.
